I dont usually spend too much on books for infants and babies after my oldest used them as teething toys which was my experience. I came across these when searching for a book exchange gift at the childcare for my youngest. I find these books perfect for babies entering toddlerhood and young toddlers. They are small and handy, fits into any bag and easy to hold for young babies. These are like the priddy lift a flap books but even thicker so they are nice and hardy. With that amount of cardboard, it has a very good, smooth finish on the sides.Unlike the usual lift a flap, these do not have those cut-outs to assist with lifting a much thinner flap. There is a spacing for little fingers to dig into to lift the flap all around. Because the flap is rather thick, they wear well.The illustration is colourful and whimsical such that my 4yr old who is into art now enjoys looking at these books too. The text is simple but not too different from other lift the flap books for slightly older toddlers so I could still engage my older child with this book.They are relatively expensive but they hold up well and do go well beyond the 6mth+ age range listed. Overall, a good book for anyone introducing a baby to books and pages.
My 2-year old loves any Lift-the-Flap books. She's really taken off with animals around the farm and these make a great addition to her collection of things in the world. She was quite taken with them right away! I love that the flaps are thick and secured pretty well for a board book, as opposed to other flap books where the flap can easily be removed with a good pull. The colors are bright, fun, and really fit with the setting they deal with. The story is also very simple and excellent for the littles that will be reading it. Definitely a mom win!
Love these! The illustrations are lovely but not so busy as to lose a toddlers interest. The pages are very sturdy and my favorite part is that the flaps are made of the same board instead of flimsy paper that can rip off. Also around each flap is an indentation so that my 15 month old can open them himself. I am very tempted to buy more in this series!
I bought this set because of The Little Red Barn - my kiddo loves lifting the flaps then we make the sound of whatever animal we find there. The books in this set are beautifully illustrated, very sturdy, and he loves lifting the flaps but they're a little less interactive. You can "ribbit ribbit" and "buzz buzz" but that's about it. The kiddo is all into farm animal sounds so these just don't get as much use.
These books are awesome! My little one jumped right in, turning pages and opening flaps. They are vibrant, sturdy, and charming. They are smaller than I expected but it just makes them easier to hold. I also wish there were a few more animals on each page that I could point out and have her show me but I'm not complaining at all. The colors are soooo pretty and the illustrations are magnificent!!
These are good size for little hands and the pictures are bright and colorful. These are in the regular rotation with our 12-month old right now. It is easy for baby to pull these flaps open and we don't have to worry about them ripping. I would buy more of these books.
My LO loves these books! They are among the favourites when it is time to read books before a nap or bed time. The book isn't too bulky and the flaps are large which makes it easier for my toddler to lift the flaps by himself.
My toddler loves lift-the-flap books but can be rough with them. These are the perfect solution. She can look through these books all by herself and never tear or even crease the flaps. The illustrations and the stories are also extremely adorable!
