While the patterns and quilts in the book are very cute, I was disappointed with the appliqué drawings. Some are on the back of printed pages, making it impossible or impracticable to remove for copying. In addition, the patters that are in the back of the book are printed on both sides. So, those can't be cut apart for scanning or copying. I have a Brother ScanNCut and was looking forward to using it to make these quilts, but that's not going to happen due to the way the tracing patterns are laid out. The pages are too large to fold to send thru a scanner. I do not have a steady hand so tracing is out of the question for me. It would be ideal if they would include a DVD containing the patterns with the book, or even offer an option to purchase one.

AWESOME ideas, bought this book and the Animal Parade by same author with beautiful quilt ideas in both books. I made a baby quilt using some of several animals for a Woodland animals theme and was totally happy with the results.

This book contains the cutest quilts just wish it also had information on the quilting designs used

I bought this book because I fell in love with the animals. I'm using the turtle quilt as inspiration for a nursery with a turtle theme. So cute. Directions are quick and easy. Let ve it. This book will be used for lots of fun projects.

This book is fabulous for quilters and new parents as well. So many great motifs to use. Seller was great, price was great and the book will still be in my collection when I die!

I love making baby quilts and this book is chocked full of cute and adorable patterns that are relatively easy or somewhat easy to make.

Design illustrations and patterns are somewhat dated and not that cute.

This book is adorable and the kids loved it. I donated the book to a school overseas and it was awesome watching these kids read this book that was so different than other children's books.

The trend of stupid hipster books that have garbage grammar and rambling nonsensical plot lines is beyond annoying. And I live in Brooklyn! Don't waste your time, money, or your child's precious brain.

I made the mistake of not reading reviews prior to purchase. It was a whimsical purchase and, afterall, how bad can a children's book be? The answer is "soooooo bad". Received this book yesterday as it is to be a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. Read through it twice thinking, "I can't believe it's this awful". AWFUL! I anticipated some silly sing-songy antics about dragons and tacos. This book was literally what it would have been like if you sat at the kitchen table with some friends and some drinks writing down your concept of this book. Then you added illustrations and a price tag. No fine tuning or editing - just a off the cuff (bad) story. If I can save even one person from this buyer's remorse then I've done my job.

I'm disappointed in the story. Apparently dragons hate spicy salsa. I avoid using the word "hate" around little children, so I was appalled at how many times it appears in this book. After reading this story aloud to my child she started refusing foods claiming that they were "spicy." Double disappointment for me. Unfortunately, my daughter LOVES this book and asks me to read it at least once a week.

I thought it was not fun, then my husband said that it was the dumbest book ever. I had to agree

I was excited to get this for my 5 year old son since he loves dragons and tacos. The story was really flat. Even my son said, this was a boring book. I’m not quite sure why it is so highly rated; maybe because of the illustrations.

This book is not Chaucer (doesn't try to be, and that's fine!) We'd selected several little books for our grandchildren this Christmas, and while most of them contained more substantive messages, you know what they say about all work and no play! We chose this one for our 2+ year old grandson, a silly book with fun illustrations that we know he and his older brothers will all really get a kick out of! Most of the vocabulary is a bit over his head at this stage, but that's how they learn, and it sets up the perfect scenario for one of his older (4-1/2 & 8-1/2) brothers to enjoy reading it to him and maybe provide Mommy with a little break.Well, of COURSE we all know that dragons love tacos - who doesn't love tacos? But what we may not know until reading this story is that dragons + tacos + spicy salsa equals dragons with attitude! One of the things I like is that the dragons I knew as a child (other than Puff!) were all very scary and the creatures of nightmares... but these are the funniest, friendliest looking dragons you could imagine, all of whom just LOVE tacos and just LOVE parties of any kind - just combine the two (into a taco party), and you're looking at some super happy dragons! Except... including any spicy salsa is a no-no, since we're all aware of what dragons are known for, and slipping - even accidentally - any spicy salsa into the mix would be like putting a match to a... uh-oh!And how could a book coming from this combo of author/illustrator be anything other than fun? I had a good chuckle over the "recipe" included on the inside of the jacket for "making" this book... (author) "Adam Rubin: 8 oz. magic tricks, 4 oz. knock-knock jokes, 17 words per minute... In a small apartment, stir ingredients and store in New York City", along with (illustrator) "Daniel Salmieri: 4 tbsp. watercolor paint, 2 cups pencils (sharpened), 6 corn tortillas... Preheat Brooklyn, New York, to 75 degrees and bake for 27 years", then "Serve both dishes together for a delightful smorgasbord a la Robo-Sauce, Secret Pizza Party, and Those Darn Squirrels." VERY clever!

Bought this book a year ago on a lark for my then three year old and it is his favorite. He’s four now and has practically memorized it. Even our eleven year old laughs. It’s just a fun book about dragons who love tacos and what happens if they get spicy salsa. Parents - you will love because it is the PERFECT length for bedtime reading. It’s long enough to feel like you’re contributing to literacy but short enough that you aren’t groaning when your child hands it to you and it’s already 8 o’clock. Just buy it.

I bought this book based on rave reviews and the fact that everyone seems to love it. My husband and I both found it almost painful to read and it left our kids confused and completely unexcited. It reminds me of a similar kids book series that people seem to like that fell flat for us - elephant and piggy. So if you don’t like those books, you probably won’t like this one either. No point, boring prose, just generally strange and not very fun. Disappointed in a book with such good ratings.
